1, 2, 3 Tequila Cocktails
Here we go again and it's getting serious now! It's tequila time.
Don't tell me you don't drink tequila. That bottle with the little red sombrero doesn't count.
So grab yourself a bottle of 100% agave tequila, either Blanco or Reposado will work and settle into some of these.
In my experience, you can't buy decent Tequila in Australia for under $50 unless there's some kind of offer happening. For mixing purposes and in the $50-55 price range I would recommend el Jimador, Espolon or Jose Cuervo Traditional (not to be confused with Jose Cuervo Especial, which is another bottle that haunts many teenage dreams)
When it comes to choosing between Blanco and Reposado, you can get either or both. Blanco is unaged straight out for the still so it has a little more of that raw "tequila-ish" taste, Reposado has sat un a barrel for a few months which softens up the flavours a little. They will both work well in cocktails each bringing slightly different elements to the drink. If you're trying to learn to drink tequila I'd suggest buying Reposado as its a little less harsh.
