1, 2, 3 Black Rum Cocktails

But you already did rum!??!!

Yes, I did but that was White Rum, and I'll keep doing it until I've covered all the variants I'd suggest you add to your bar!

**Hint there are a few more coming!**

Bottle Suggestions

Goslings Black Seal - This Rum holds the patent for their Signature drink, the Dark & Stormy so technically you're breaking the law if your make it with a different bottle. Fortunately, it's pretty much the best option out there for black rums.

Plantation Original Dark Rum - Somehow this bottle comes in cheaper than goslings in Australia. I'm not sure how that works out but its a bargain and would be a worthy addition.

Let's get to it.

1 Bottle Cocktail Recipe

Dark n' Stormy

Glass: Highball

Method: Build and Float

Ice: Cubed

Garnish: Dehydrated Lime Wheel

Ingredients

75ml Ginger Beer

20ml Lime Juice

45ml Black Rum

(Optional) 2 dashes Angostura bitters - But that would make it a two bottle cocktail so keep in on the down-low.

Build the first two ingredients into a highball full of ice. Then holding your barspoon on the level of the surface of your drink slowly pour the Rum onto the spoon creating a Dark and Stormy looking layer in the top of your glass.

Add all of the ingredients to your glass and fill 2/3 full with crushed ice. Insert your swizzle stick (or bar spoon) and holding between the palms of your hands. Rub your hands together to make the swizzle stick spin between your palms like Tom Hanks trying to start a fire on a desert Island. Add more ice to the glass and repeat, when you're done the glass should be wonderfully frosty on the outside.
